Stewart Martin is Emertius Professor of Education at the University of Hull, UK and Adjunct Professor at the University of Saint Joseph, Macau SAR, China. He researches, teaches, consults and speaks at international events on the topics of digital technology, technology-enhanced learning, applied cognitive psychology, virtual reality, online identity and research methodology.

Stewart uses his research to gain insights into how learning really works and how digital technology can be used effectively to enhance education.  His work has appeared in many of the most reputed academic journals, such as Educational Research and Evaluation, the International Journal of Learning Technology, Computers & Education, the Journal of Computer Assisted Learning and Teaching and Teacher Education.

He is an active researcher and a keynote speaker at educational and technology conferences and has been Principal Investigator for many international research projects with income of over £2m. Stewart is a visiting professor at universities in Switzerland, Japan and China and is a National Teaching Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.
